Gamers rarely finish games. Because of this, backlogs of unfinished games pile up. However, human's gain energy and momentum from others. Gamers will be more likely to finish games if they are motivated. This is the problem that Logit aims to solve. The process of solving the problem is in designing an app which combines gamification and actually playing games to create motivation in gamers to tackle their backlog.

Social media foundation

Logit feeds off of gamer profiles that they manage. Logit lets gamers keep track of their entire games collection, update the status of each game, and view friends profiles. They can also scroll through the activity page to see what their friends are up to and recently achieved milestones.

Social media works, and we aren't trying to reinvent the wheel here. The scope of the project means we aren't trying to create the next Facebook, we're giving gamers a service that works towards a different need.

Gamification of playing games

Extrinsic motivation is the concept of the motivation we feel to achieve external goals such as leveling up in games.

Logit uses this concept to gamify the activity of finishing games. Visible progress bars and rankings aim to create extrinsic motivation for gamers to keep playing and finishing their games.

Logit was designed as a business, and so the branding was a key focus for the project. Logit isn't a super serious brand, and the end result reflects this playful nature. For more information on the brand, download the style guide below:
